“Az Ormánság egészségéért” non-profit organization, on-call general practicioner service at Sellye

As of 2011 “Az Ormánság egészségéért” non-profit organization is responsible for the on-call general practitioner service at the township of Sellye. The organization meets the legal requirements. We possess a valid “ÁNTSZ” (National Public Health and Medical Officer Service – BAMKH Siklósi Járási HIvatal) and we have a legitimate financial contract with the National Health Insurance Fund of Hungary (NEAK). The management of the on-call service is in accordance with our internal regulations, which comply with the current laws (listed below):

The office of the on call general practitioner service is at Bodonyi út 1/A, Sellye. The service is available 16 hours daily (from 3pm until 7am of the following day) and 24 hours a day on public holidays and weekends. The service area covers Sellye a 19 more settlements (Felsőszentmárton, Drávakeresztúr, Drávasztára,Drávafok, Bogdása, Markóc, Kákics, Marócsa, Okorág, Sósvertike, Drávaiványi, Csányoszró, Magyarmecske, Magyartelek, Kisasszonyfa, Gilvánfa, Nagycsány, Besence) including adult and pediatric care. At Sellye during service hours, a medical doctor, nurse, a vehicle and a driver are available.

If higher level of service is required, depending on the nature of the case too, patients are transported to the hospital at Szigetvár. The institution where patients are transported in case of necessity are determined by the National Public Health and Medical Officer Service.

Currently the following facilities are available during on-call hours:

  • Office of the on-call general practitioner
  • Waiting room for patients, including restrooms for disabled patients
  • Patients room with two beds
  • Resting area of doctors (shower and restroom are available)
  • Resting area for nurses (shower and restroom are available)
  • Resting area for drivers (shower and restroom are available)
  • Tea kitchen

In the past few years numerous new colleagues joined our team (former doctors and drivers of the Hungarian Ambulance Services). We maintain a good and well-oiled working relationship with the Hungarian Ambulance Service and the general practitioners of the neighboring districts.
